At El Cid, we believe that our greatest pride comes from the people who make up our family. Today, we celebrate one of our own, Mariana Guerrero, a talented and passionate member of our Dance Team, who was crowned Reina de los Juegos Florales at the 2026 Mazatlán International Carnival.
Mariana began her journey at El Cid as an entertainer, bringing joy and energy to every stage she stepped on. With a natural vocation for dance, many of our guests have seen her shine in vibrant performances featuring authentic Mexican costumes and traditional music. Her dedication, discipline, and love for the arts have always been evident, making this year’s honor a truly fitting achievement.
Being crowned Reina de los Juegos Florales is far more than receiving a title. The Juegos Florales tradition traces its roots back to ancient literary and poetic competitions inspired by Roman celebrations honoring the goddess Flora, where beauty, culture, and creativity were exalted. Today, the queen is recognized as an ambassador of culture and the arts, a role that perfectly reflects Mariana’s artistic spirit and commitment.
What makes this achievement even more meaningful for us is that Mariana never walked this path alone. Throughout her campaign, she was supported every step of the way by her fellow Dance Team members, the Activities Team, and our entire El Cid family. Their encouragement, teamwork, and pride in seeing one of our own represent Mazatlán embody the true spirit of who we are as a company.
To honor her remarkable accomplishment, El Cid hosted a special celebration at the Teatro El Cid, where friends, family, and colleagues gathered to recognize not only the crown she earned, but the person she is. The evening was made even more special by the presence of distinguished guests such as Olympic silver medalist Marco Verde, medalist at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, whose father has been a valued El Cid collaborator for many years, and Rosa María Guerrero, a two-time Paralympic bronze medalist in discus at Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, whose father is also part of our extended El Cid family.
This celebration went beyond honoring a prestigious title. It was a tribute to dedication, perseverance, artistry, and the values that unite us. Mariana’s crown represents not only a personal triumph, but a shared victory for everyone who has supported her journey.
At El Cid, we are committed to nurturing talent, celebrating achievements, and standing behind our people. Mariana Guerrero’s story reminds us that when one of us succeeds, we all succeed.
