El Cid Resorts is proud to announce that it has earned the EarthCheck Silver Certified recognition for the third consecutive year, reaffirming its long-term commitment to sustainable tourism and environmental responsibility.
This achievement reflects the collective efforts of the resort’s operational and environmental teams, who continue to implement initiatives that make a positive impact on both the community and the environment. At El Cid Resorts, every action counts, and sustainability is built through consistent practices that benefit future generations.
Among the initiatives contributing to this recognition are the installation of solar panels to generate clean energy, water-saving systems across the properties, a successful biowaste separation program in partnership with local organizations, and the conservation of extensive mangrove areas.
As part of the certification process, EarthCheck evaluated key sustainability indicators, including energy efficiency, water conservation, waste management, and greenhouse gas emissions.
This year’s results demonstrate continuous progress across key sustainability indicators. Compared to the previous year, El Cid Resorts achieved significant improvements in areas such as reducing waste sent to landfill, as well as enhancing pesticide and cleaning product ratings, demonstrating that a consistent commitment to responsible practices leads to measurable, positive results.

This achievement is part of a structured,
four-year evaluation period that officially commenced in 2024. Having
successfully maintained rigorous environmental practices through the first
three years of this cycle, El Cid Resorts is preparing for its decisive fourth
annual audit at the end of this year. Successfully passing this final upcoming
audit will allow the resorts to officially advance from Silver to the
prestigious EarthCheck Gold level status, cementing our long-term leadership in
sustainable luxury.
