With the assistance of golfers from all over the world, the best overall results, and wonderful weather that favored all individual scores, the fourth and final round of the PGA TOUR Latin America concluded; highlighting that this is the top golf tournament in Hispanic America.
144 Professional golfers gathered at the Estrella del Mar Resort, a beautiful course located on the Pacific Ocean beach of Mazatlán and designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. The course recently went through major renovations, mainly in the greens.
The perfect prevailing climatic conditions and the high quality of participating golfers, marked from the beginning a fierce race for the lowest scores, so much so that the cut to move to the third round was defined in an incredible minus 7.The fourth and final round began with a -19 of three players on top of the leaderboard, followed by 4 players at one-shot distance.
Only the 11 birdies that the Brazilian Alexandre Rocha scored in the final round, could do the difference to conquer the championship with a -29 in the sum of the four cards, followed by Mexican golfer Álvaro Ortiz Becerra three strokes away, and by the also Mexican fellow golfer Raúl Pereda an additional stroke away.
Many of the professionals participating in this PGA Tour tournament expressed that not only the always excellent weather in Mazatlan helped the excellent scores, but the great conditions of the golf courses also did their part.
