Our members are our top priority and their happiness, satisfaction and safety are paramount to us, which is why we feel we must share the following information with you.

- If you receive an invoice or a payment request in regards to your membership where the beneficiary is not El Cid Vacations Club, contact us immediately; before disposing of operational documentation such as account statements and payment vouchers, destroy them completely.
- Never share your ECVC password, temporary reference numbers or security digits with anyone. El Cid Vacations Club will never ask you for this information in order to provide assistance.
- Keep continuous track of your ECVC statements.

- El Cid Vacations Club will not ask for payments via text message or through an app. Know the ECVC official app exclusively for members.

- Pay special attention at the time of verifying sources. Fraudulent companies can use some subtle changes on the names of well-known companies. See here the names of identified scam companies.

Notice: In the example above of the legitimate and fraudulent company name; aside from the added LLC the fraudulent name has also removed the “s” from the word “Vacations”. Changes as insignificant as this can have a significant impact in making a member believe the communication received is legitimate.
- Make sure that your data is updated. You can call or fill out this form to summit your information.
- Keep all your ECVC documentation in a safe place.
- Destroy documents that you don´t use anymore that contain financial information or personal information.
- Never e-mail your password, account number, social security number or other sensitive information to anyone.

Scam companies will pretend to be timeshare executives and even directors calling to offer you a discount on your financial loan and/or maintenance fees in an effort to collect money upfront to fund a major project.
They will contact you mentioning they work for a bank and that an account with money in your name requires your authorization for it to be released, in an effort for you to send them your signature. Similarly they will say they require you pay taxes on the cash offer in order for them to send you the money pertaining to the original offer.
They mention the development is looking to buy-back a % of its memberships as the property is turning its hotel units into condominiums in order to sell them once the renovation is complete.
They may even go as far as to impersonate a government employees and/or government entities claiming they need to verify personal and sensitive information or pay taxes.
They may claim that they represent a law firm, that is looking into and working with Vacation Clubs, and wish to collect and verify information regarding your membership.
If an individual and/or company offers you more money than what your contract is worth, it is definitely a scam.
